Full NLIS & eNVD integration is live
It's done. Tagline is now a fully accredited Integrity Systems integrator, with both NLIS and eNVD live in production. That means the two jobs that used to send you to a separate government portal — lodging NLIS movements and creating vendor declarations — now happen straight from the same line that already holds your animals. Here's what's switched on, and what it changes on the ground.
What's now live
Two direct, accredited connections to Integrity Systems — no CSV exports, no second website, no re-keying the same mob into another form.
- NLIS, direct to the registry. Push transfers on and off your PIC, record deaths, and update tag-status and tag replacements straight to the NLIS production database — then reconcile your register against the registry's own record in real time.
- eNVD, created and lodged from the app. Build, sign and submit consignment declarations directly through the Integrity Systems platform, backed by the animals, treatments and withholding periods already on your line — so the declaration is real records, not a head count re-typed at the race.
Add every head to the consignment at once
The eNVD flow now supports adding all your stock to a consignment in one go. Instead of opening an empty form and describing a mob, you pick the animals actually leaving and they carry straight across — individually identified, with their treatment and withholding status attached. One consignment, every beast, no hand-transcription.
And you can build it right there at the rail. The eNVD works offline, so no signal in the yard is no problem — draft the consignment on the spot and it syncs the moment you're back in range.
The truck driver signs his part at the yards
A consignment passes through more than one set of hands, and the eNVD now reflects that end to end. At the yards, the truck driver completes and signs his own section of the eNVD on the spot — the transporter details are captured at the point they actually happen, not chased down after the truck has gone. Everyone's part of the declaration travels with the stock.
Not carrying the app? The eNVD goes straight to the driver — by email with the official ISC PDF attached, or by SMS as a link to the consignment and its NLIS tag list — so he gets it, and can complete his section, the moment he's back in coverage. No one in the chain is held up because they're offline. Here's the email a transporter or receiver actually gets:
Real world: when four head don't load
This is where the gap between the old NVD and the eNVD really opens up. A paper NVD declared a mob — a head count and a description. The eNVD carries the actual list of the cattle being transported, each beast individually identified and linked to its NLIS record. The consignment isn't a number you wrote in a book; it's the animals themselves, and that list is shared with the buyer.
So picture a real morning at the yards. You've drafted 100 head and built the consignment. At the race, four don't make the truck — one's gone lame, one's too light, a couple simply won't load. On paper that's a crossed-out number and a phone call, and a declaration that no longer matches what's actually on the deck.
With the eNVD you just pull those four off the list before you finalise it. The consignment now reflects exactly what's on the truck — 96 head, by their tags. Finalise, and the updated list goes straight to the buyer and the transporter: everyone is looking at the same animals, not a figure that's out by four.
And because every beast is linked to NLIS, the movement that lodges is the real one. The buyer receives exactly the cattle that arrived, the PICs line up, and the four that stayed home never left your account. That's true traceability — the paperwork, the truck and the registry all telling the same story — and it makes the day easier for the producer, the driver and the buyer at once.
What it changes on the ground
- One line, not two systems. Movements and declarations lodge from the record you already keep. The portal stops being a place you have to visit.
- Your PIC stays honest. Because transfers lodge directly and reconciliation runs against the live NLIS record, the gap between your paddocks and your NLIS account closes instead of drifting — which is exactly what an audit tests.
- Less re-typing, fewer errors. Every field the integration fills is a field nobody has to key twice.
- Paper still works. Need a hard copy? Any eNVD prints to PDF for anyone in the chain who wants one, and paper NVDs remain valid.
The honest note
We've said all along that we'd never tell you a thing was automated before it actually was — and for a while these were "coming", not "done". They're done now: the accreditation is granted, the licences are executed, and both connections are live in production. If you're already on Tagline, connect your MyMLA account and you're lodging directly. If you're not yet, this is the piece that turns compliance from a portal chore into a by-product of the records you keep anyway.
Frequently asked questions
As an accredited ISC integrator, Tagline pushes transfers on/off your PIC, records deaths, and updates tag-status and replacements straight to the NLIS production database — and reconciles your register against the registry. No Device Query CSV exports.
You create, sign and lodge eNVDs directly from Tagline. Add every head to a consignment at once, and the truck driver completes and signs his section at the yards.
For most work, no — Tagline lodges directly. Paper NVDs stay valid, and any eNVD prints to PDF for anyone who needs a hard copy.
No. Transfers, deaths and tag changes lodge on your instruction against your own accredited account and PIC — nothing goes automatically.
Yes. The consignment is the actual list of animals, each linked to its NLIS record, so you can pull any that don't make the truck before you finalise it. The updated list — and the NLIS movement behind it — reflects exactly what travelled, and is reshared with the buyer and transporter.
